As we enter into another season of Lent, we come from all sorts of places, with all kinds of heart joys and heart aches, and lots of thoughts and opinions. What we all share as the people of God is the same stories. We have the stories of all the people of God who have gone before us and discovered how God met them right where they were and led them to their next place. And in Hebrews 11 we have been seeing how every one of those people had one word: faith. The repeated phrase in Hebrews 11 is “by faith." Faith, that in-between thing between what we are now experiencing and what we believe we will experience in the future. Faith, that handle that says, “I trust that there is something more that I can’t see. That God is there and He is at work.” Faith, that hard to explain trait that moves us to do things we would not otherwise do.
