Peace Be Still, by He Qi. 2001. He Qi © 2014 All Rights Reserved. www.heqiart.com Mark 4:35-41 Devotional: Peace! Be still. For your devotions this week, take time to sit quietly with Jesus. Each day, there is one verse or passage about peace. Read over it 3 times and then sit or stand or kneel in silence for a 2 minutes. Then read over it one more time. Let Jesus’ peace rule in your heart and mind every day this week. Day 1: Luke 1:78-79 Day 2: Ephesians 2:14 Day 3: Ephesians 2:17 Day 4: Ephesians 4:2-3 Day 5: Philippians 4:6-7 Remember our regular questions: What do I learn about Jesus?Nini nimejifunza kuhusu Yesu? What do I learn about people?Nini nimejifunza kuhusu watu? So what? (What is God saying to me in this passage? How does this apply to my life?)Sasa je? (Ni nini Mungu ananizungumuzia kwa neno hili? Namna haya yapata na maisha yangu?) Who can I tell this week about what I learned?Ni nani nawez kueleza haya nilyojifunza kwa juma hii? Listen to and download Pastor Joanna's full sermon here:

![]() 5 Day Devotional Day 1: Read Mark 4:1-9. Imagine you went to hear Jesus preach. And this is the story he told. He did not explain it to the crowd. Try to pray and think about just this story before tomorrow when you read about what it means. Day 2: Read Mark 4:10-20. Which kind of soil are you? Not what kind of soil were you 20 years ago or last year. What kind of soil are you today? Ask God to show you. Day 3: Read Mark 4:21-25. Count the number of lights you have in your house. Why do you have so many? Bonus: Read Matthew 5:14-16. Are you a light? What would a human light do? Day 4: Read Mark 4:26-29. What might this parable tell us about our job in the Kingdom and God’s job in the Kingdom? Day 5: Read Mark 4:30-34. Why would Jesus use so many parables instead of simply telling them what to think and what to do? Remember our regular questions:

5 Day Devotional Day 1: Read all of Mark 3 to get a big picture view of what is happening. (Bonus: The whole book of Mark is meant to be read as one whole story. Take a longer amount of time and start back at Mark 1 and read through Mark 3 to catch the movement of the whole story.) Day 2: Read Mark 3:7-12. If you could see Jesus face to face, would you wait in line patiently? Would you push forward to touch him? What would you say to him? Day 3: Read Mark 3:13-19. What three things did Jesus have the 12 apostles do? What might Jesus be asking you to do? Day 4: Read Mark 3:20-30. What do you think the Holy Spirit does? (Bonus: For a much longer study: go to www.biblegateway.com and do a word search on Holy Spirit for the whole Bible. Or talk to Pastor Joanna about further resources about the Holy Spirit.) Day 5: Read Mark 3:31-35. Note from Pastor Joanna: As I’ve been studying Mark 3 this week, verse 35 has been the most convicting for me. What does it look like for me to do God’s will right now? It has looked very different at different stages in my life. Am I sitting with Jesus each day so that I can know what He wants me to do for this day? Listen to and download the full sermon here:
