Joseph: Peace

2nd Sunday of Advent
5 Day Devotional:
During Advent and Christmas we will be following a pattern:
Day 1: A reading from Mary’s Song in Luke 1.
Day 2: A quiet time to listen for God speaking and helping you to consider who you can bless this week.
Day 3/4: A reading about the person from Jesus’ birth story: Mary, Joseph, the Shepherds, Jesus, and the Wise Men.
Day 5: A reading from Mark 9.

Day 1: Luke 1:51-53
Who does Mary say God is? What does God do?

Day 2: Set a timer for 2 minutes and sit quietly with Jesus. Ask him to bring to mind one person who you can bless in some way today or this week. Then write down the name and brainstorm some ways you can bless that person. Choose a day and time to do it!

Day 3: Matthew 1:18-25
What can we learn from Joseph and his words and actions?

Day 4: Matthew 2:13-23
We don’t know a lot about Joseph, but we do know that when he heard from God, he obeyed--more than once. Would your story read the same way?

Day 5: Mark 9:14-29
Who do you say Jesus is?
